There are ATV/ORV/Snowmobile trails that run through the town of Trout Lake. Hundreds of miles of trails can be accessed right from the parking lot of your cabin year-round! You can ride to Newberry, St. Ignace, and Paradise, to name a few! The trails in this area will not disappoint!

The area is located within the Hiawatha National Forest which offers hundreds of beautiful hiking trails, as well as numerous nature watching opportunities and offers many options for hunting.

Northern Lights & Yooperlites

If the Northern Lights are on your bucket list, we are located near many great viewing areas AND we have even had the pleasure of seeing them right from the fire pit on our property!!! Prime viewing months are typically April, October, and November but in 2022 we have had the pleasure of seeing them vibrantly in July and on Labor Day Weekend! (I can recommend some awesome apps to help you see the Aurora forecasts & predictions)

The highly sought after Yooperlites can be found all along the shores of Lake Superior and we are located near some key locations to do some Yooperlite hunting! (We hear that the not-so-well-known prime times to find them are in the Spring when the ices goes out.)

Carp Lake (also called Big Trout Lake) is 560 acres of prime fishing for a variety of fish including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, walleye, northern pike, pumpkinseed sunfish, bream/blue gill , & rock bass.

Carp Lake is also an all-sports lake great for boating, jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, paddle boarding, knee boarding, and swimming.
